KYLE LACY

Kyle Lacy

"With an addictive, hypnotic feel that wraps around you and urges you sway along from the first hazy beats right to the final notes, the track is brilliant glimpse of what might be in store for us in the album."

       - Earmilk, "Love Spectator" Release, October 2022

“A fine mix of soul, blues, gospel and rock ‘n’ roll that deserves a larger audience. […] It’s never too late to discover such good music.”

      - Add to Wantlist, 2020

BIO

Kyle Lacy is a guitarist and singer from Atlanta, Georgia and was born in 1990; however, his time machine made a quick refueling stop in 1956 and he was quickly infected with the DNA that gave birth to Rock’n’Roll.

With his original rockabilly band, Harlem River Noise, he developed a blues and soul driven guitar and vocal style that has been the cornerstone of his songwriting. After 2 years of full-time touring, and after performing at the legendary Rockabilly festival Viva Las Vegas in 2019, he came back to NYC and formed the Kyle Lacy Band. His debut album “The Road to Tomorrow” was released in 2020 by Brooklyn-based Dala Records. The album was described as “A fine mix of soul, blues, gospel and rock ‘n’ roll that deserves a larger audience” (AddtoWantlist), and the single “Low and Slow” earned multiple spins on The Craig Charles Funk and Soul show (BBC).

Kyle is currently the musical director and touring guitarist for the Harlem Gospel Travelers (Colemine Records). He also has cheekbones for days and hair that Elvis stole (remember that time machine?) His 2nd solo album, Pleasurecraft, is available everywhere. He has recently played in New York City at the Sultan Room and Mercury Lounge, as well as completing a tour of Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina in August. Credits as producer: Mel and the Tall Boys, Warren Malone, Gibson Malone, Chris Q. Murphy and the Automat, Ifedayo.

PRESS

"Lacy’s music is infused with the raw soul of the records he grew up listening to with his parents: Wynonie Harris, Big Joe Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis."

Kalyn Oyer

Charleston SCENE

"With Lacy's sprightly vocals -- JD McPherson should look over his shoulder -- and the band packing the album into a two-day recording session, the album packs a needed punch."

RACHEL CHOLST

Adobe & Teardrops

"Gut-wrenching words that resonate with people the world over and reminiscent of classic soul music..."

IMRAN MIRZA

BLUE in Green Radio
